TERN Advances to Next Round of xTechOverwatch: Advancing Mission-Critical Navigation

We’re proud to announce that TERN has been selected as one of 40 organizations in the U.S. Army’s xTechOverwatch program, an initiative focused on sourcing cutting-edge technologies that strengthen operational capabilities for defense and national security.

TERN’s inclusion reflects growing recognition of our GPS alternative, Independently Derived Positioning System (IDPS™), which delivers resilient navigation where GPS fails or is denied entirely. With battlefield environments increasingly subject to jamming, spoofing, and satellite degradation, IDPS™ offers a software-based alternative that maintains pinpoint location accuracy without relying on external signals, networks, or infrastructure.

Unlike traditional GPS-dependent systems, IDPS™ uses existing vehicle sensor data, maps and a proprietary “brain” to calculate position – functioning even in contested environments. The result? Uninterrupted situational awareness, greater advantage and enhanced operational effectiveness.

This milestone builds upon our successful testing with the U.S. Department of Transportation and other governmental agencies. We’re honored to continue advancing the future of military-grade navigation alongside other top innovators.

Stay tuned as we progress through the next phase. The future of mission resilience doesn’t rely on a signal; it starts with TERN.
